Crisis (mostly) Avert: A Story in Pictures

Last night, during another spell of sleep-deprivation, I randomly checked my email before finally passing out.

Wait, that's not what I look like when I check my email.

No, wait. I check my email like THIS:

Anyway, I received a message from Google. My account had been suspended.

Because I had a donation button. And no 501(c)(3) status. I was being shut down.

OH NO!

I hurriedly wrote a (typo-ridden) email, explaining I'm a freelance writer/artist, just wanting a little support for my work...and hinted I was being shut down because of adult-content.

I hit send.

Then fell into a miserable sleep of the damned.

I woke up and, expecting certain doom...

I checked my email...

No, wait...I checked my email -

And un-suspended my account!

Except I can't accept have a donation button, anymore.

But overall, it's a good thing!

No, wait...

On a completely unrelated topic, here are the unedited originals from the dark and dim pink panty shoot update I'm simultaneously posting right now -

Enjoy!

Originals!

I got a huge iced coffee, one of those tiny energy-in-a-bottle thingies and some sunshine when walking around the neighborhood.

I think I'm *slightly* more awake!

The title of this post has two meanings...first, I owe the charming bidders (and whomever loyally reads "Adventures in Panties," the original photos from my latest update.

But first, let me offer you the "director's cut" of the video I uploaded to YouTube (for your eyes only!) -
And, naturally, here are the unedited photos from the auction -

(I admit being a little paranoid about covering the world's smallest hint of pubic hair, but I don't want to get kicked off Flickr!)

(Amaya, back in school, didn't take this second set, by the way.
New roommates = New photographers!)

(My personal favorite!)

I added a surprise element to the auction - determining the next item in the mini-progressive format by rolling my dirty dice! I'm a little bit worried how it will go - I'm not sure if people will be into the idea of not knowing exactly what they're getting next!

But you know me...I love a surprise!

Now, let me tell you about something I'm not so crazy about...

The above link takes you to my "me" page on ebanned - at the bottom, I've very clearly stated a disclaimer forbidding reproduction of my work without my explicit, written permission.

Yes, I consider auctions my "work," exactly as much as I consider an installation piece, essay or short story. They require the same time commitment and creativity as anything else I do!

While the majority of theft of intellectual property occurring in the world of panty-selling regards images, I've found my auction format, style, and even text is misappropriated.

Not cool.

I've gradually watched the perpetrator (I'm not naming names) pluck from my auctions for a while. At first, I played it off, thinking "imitation is the sincerest flattery."

But it's gotten to the point where I'm scrolling through this person's auction, fuming, and my roommate looks over my shoulder and says, "that's you, right?" I've brought up the notion of "imitation" a few times in my new auction, hoping this person, or potential bidders, will get the hint. I really hate bad-mouthing other girls and try to keep a positive attitude...

But this person's last auction really grated on my nerves! Particularly because I recently re-vamped my "Me" page with freshly written text. Apparently, the seller ignored my copyright warning - and plucked from the rest of my brand new text!

Some of you may know, I do a lot of freelancing writing. And I'm very familiar with copyright law.

Good artists know their rights.

Most people aren't aware that you no longer need to register with the US Copyright office for a work to be considered your intellectual property. The purpose of registering is mainly to establish a back-up, dated record of ownership, should it be be disputed. Here's a helpful guide from a law-firm that answers a lot of common questions.

(Side note - ArtFlaw lists five prominent lawsuits involving artists. That of David Wojnarowicz

- Best known for the Hide/Seek Exhibition controversy at the Smithsonian, is particularly interesting!)

I'm proud of my work and ideas and I can't stand seeing them adopted inappropriately for profit. I'm crossing my fingers this seller may fall upon this information and "cease and desist" her plagiarism!

Although I've never had any personal experiences with having photos stolen, I have caught "word on the street" (or, internet cables, rather) about a seller on ebanned who seems to be posing as something like four different girls, using photos swiped off the internet!

I've seen some of these photos and I see them as obviously faux. The images are very clearly taken by professional photographers and portray professional models - they may as well be stock images!

(Not actual image - I just grabbed this off Google!)

But, apparently, a few honest buyers have fallen for it! What's extremely upsetting, however, is whomever is behind the scam, has admitted it! And refuses to do anything!

It sort of stinks that panty/fetish-selling should have so many examples of blatantly poor business ethics. Think about it. It's may be a big step for someone with uncommon sexual desires to finally explore them and don't deserve to be conned.

Misappropriating others work, aside from fair use (and none of these examples constitute as fair use!) really bugs me! I hate seeing honest people (not just myself) screwed!

(Unless it's in the good way!)

Kammi Does it 36 Hours a Day

Staying awake, that is.

I hope this entry doesn't come out as total mish-mosh (as often is the case with some of my blog posts written under the spell of insomnia), because I've got quite a bit to say!

I sort of think this may require two posts...

As a writer (of original material - what I really want to get at), I've noticed readers have pretty short attention spans! And I just posted an awesome update to my current ebanned auction!

For the panties you see above!

Really, I'm adding this seemingly erroneous post in the interests of authenticity - with me (and plenty of  great panty-sellers) what you see is what you get! And I'm not just talking about photos, but other self-created material as well!

Would I post a photo looking that horrible if I wasn't 100% genuine?

In my defense, insomnia is a cruel beast who will ravage your appearance - and I'm pulling an all-nighter to try and re-set me sleep schedule. Though I must admit, my new haircut is pretty cute -

You can't see it very well in these images, but my hair is now a very, very dark blue - I expect it to fade with a few washings to a nice navy shade with teal streaks in front...and I'm having purple tinsel woven into it!

...which will look EXTRA cool with my sparkly panties!

And...you can't see the sparkles in that photo...

 Um...or that photo.

ANYWAY...

I was also hoping to alert your attention to a few cool new blog changes! If you look to the right, you'll see a link to all my you tube videos! The "panties of the week" are finally updated and I'm about to add a link to the ebanned "About Me" page I recently made. I took down the poll for now, while I think of a new set of questions.

Even through it's a struggle to keep my eyes open, I've still got work to do! I'm eating some pancakes I made from scratch when I had more energy a few hours ago.

But am too tired to be hungry!

NEW AUCTION FINALLY REVEALED!

Well, it was an arduous journey, but it's finally up!

Kammi Kaze's Pink Silky PARTY THONG!

It took almost an entire week to create, ran into a million problems, and has lost me plenty of sleep, but it's finally up there!

Before I continue, let me offer the promised unedited photos from the auction...

This one I think is particularly cute:

And then, of course, there's always this delight:

I only put up two nudes for the first round because I seriously have buckets of photos from that session alone!

But, of course, faithful blog readers always get their own special video:

I admit, I seriously need a haircut! Luckily, my new roommate is giving my a free cut and color tomorrow!

Do you like the .gif? Isn't it cool?!

I'm REALLY hoping this auction picks up...as I've already talked about, there's a particular seller on ebanned who's pretty much misappropriated my style as much as possible.

Plus, apparently, there's a new girl who suddenly appeared.

With almost my exact moniker.

This could be a honest coincidence, of course. But it still gets my nerves rattled!

Not to mention, I've been hearing there's been quite a bit of egregious photo-stealing going on - never good news! I'm hoping to address this in another post, however - after I speak with my sources!

So, here's the deal with this PARTICULAR auction, in case I didn't make it clear in the listing...I tend to get, you know, wordy.

I had been doing very well on ebanned, so I really want to make this auction as totally awesome as possible! It's a competitive marketplace, and I know there's some shady tactics going on (stealing someone's concept and writing is, in my opinion, pretty slow).

Here's are some of my thoughts...

You know how I billed this particular auction as a "surprise party"?

It's because there's a MAJOR surprise I'm intending on presenting near the end...and I'd like to play a little guessing game with bidders!

Naturally, I love to update - and I'm planning on adding this factor into the auction later...assuming it actually gets bids!

(My last auction - the one I was using as a placeholder, I decided to just go ahead and delete. It sort of stinks, but I hate it hanging around out there, for no reason - I want all eyes on THIS pink thong!)

So...

I think it would be cool to drop hints about the final prize - or even - play something like 20 Questions...and whoever gets close maybe receives a personal photo!

Naturally, I like to play things by ear and I'm not entirely sure of 100 percent of the details.

But I'm REALLY excited about this little pink thong and am desperately crossing my fingers that it a.) helps me pay off some of our debt from this flake screwing us over b.) brings me back on the panty-scene as a totally awesome, unique seller and c.) sets me apart from my "competition."

Of course, I'm trying to not be arrogant and bitchy about being ripped off - but it really sucks when you've work SO HARD to create and auction...the text alone takes hours to compose...and find it plucked it bits and pieces - just enough to avoid being called out!

Regardless, I'm going to try to update as much of the blog as quick as I can - and hope to throw in some cool new features throughout the week!
Please, guys! Let's make this the COOLEST auction EVER!

Sweet! Already got a bid! Let's keep 'em coming!

Be back soon!
